Are you a bookshop? Could you support us?
Create an LGBTQ+ section
and donate a portion of profits from this section to Allsorts! Not sure what to include? you could get recommendations from our service users as to which books to feature, or you could take inspiration from our recommended books list
Offer work experience
Many of our older age group service users love to read and would jump at the chance to get work experience in a bookshop!
Sell bookmarks to raise money
You could work with some of our young people to design bookmarks (or other book-related merchandise) which your customers might like to add on to their purchase. Or maybe you already have a range of bookmarks for sale, maybe you could add some pride-related bookmarks to your stock, and donate some of the profits to Allsorts.
Invite Allsorts to your events
Have you got any book signings or authorsโ talks coming up? Weโd love an invite! If you have any young adult fiction related events coming up, weโd love a chance to bring some of our young people to attend. Maybe youโll also be selling drinks and snacks at your event? Why not donate some of the profits to Allsorts?
Organise a sponsored read-athon
You donโt have to run a marathon to get people to sponsor you! Why not organise a reading-related event to raise money for Allsorts? You could challenge your staff and customers to see how many LGBTQ+ books they can read in one day.
Round up your pound
Many till systems now let you add an option to โround up your poundโ, meaning customers can opt in to rounding their purchase to the nearest pound, with the little bit of extra money going to Allsorts. Itโs only pennies to each customer but can build up quickly and make a big impact for Allsorts and the young people we support!
Donate books or vouchers to a raffle
You could donate some of your products or some vouchers to our next raffle. This is an easy and quick way for you to show your support, and have us share about your shop with our donors.
