Allsorts is founded by Jess Wood and James Newton

The world was a very different place in 1999. LGBT+ people had far fewer legal rights.

Negative attitudes and discrimination towards LGBT+ people were, arguably, even more widespread and commonplace than today.

Despite this, and because of this, two wonderful and courageous people decided it was time to stand up, speak out, and do something for LGBT+ young people in our city.

No one should ever underestimate the vision and courage this took, and the sacrifices they made to breathe life into Allsorts Youth Project.
