Adults Working with Children & Young People

"I would very much like to share my greatest thanks to you for your time and presentation of ‘Understanding and supporting LGBT+ Children and Young People’. There has been some really great feedback and our whole team is so grateful for your support with sharing such a great session. Some of the feedback has highlighted how useful it was having such detailed explanations of terminology, the differences and what they mean for individuals. Others commented on your passionate approach to the presentation, the excellent extent of your knowledge and also your shared lived experience. We really do feel your event added great meaning and value to all those that attended. Thank you very much and we all look forward to perhaps working together again."

Further Information

"Which of the following sessions are you interested in booking?"

Supporting LGBT+ Children & Young People
We will explore some of the issues and challenges experienced by children and young people who are LGBT+ or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.  Together we will examine how these issues may impact their lives and wellbeing.

By the end of the training, participants will have:

Although trans and gender identity issues will be referred to in this training, it is focussed more broadly on LGBT+ issues.  We run a separate training that goes into greater depth on trans and gender identity issues, titled - Supporting Trans Children & Young People.

Supporting Trans Children & Young People
We will explore some of the issues and challenges experienced by children and young people who are  trans or exploring their gender identity. Together we will examine how these issues may impact their lives and wellbeing.

Our aim is to leave you with:

"How many hours are you able to allocate to the session(s)?"

3 hours (highly recommended)
These are incredibly complex topics, for professionals we highly recommend 3 hour long sessions (with a break halfway through) so as to make sure all the topics are covered in detail. Shorter sessions can be accommodated but there will be less time for valuable discussions and exploration.

"How would you like this training to take place?"

Online
Online training is perfect for any team who work remotely. We predominantly use Zoom for our training (other video call platforms are an option) and we require all participants to join from individual devices.

In person
In person training is the best option for any team who work in one location, and can be particularly engaging, with more space for individual discussions and less concerns about internet connections! Please note, we are based in the south-east of England. This may impact our ability to deliver training in person.

Training starts at £195 per hour plus travel. If you are booking training on behalf of a school, it may be more cost effective for your school to buy our Annual Contract.

To contact a member of the training team, please fill out our Booking Enquiry Form here. If for any reason the form is inaccessible to you, you can email training@allsortsyouth.org.uk
