Allsorts Staff visit to Charleston House
We want to say a massive thank you to the team at Charleston Trust in Lewes who gave Allsorts staff a private tour of the house and gardens, as well as seeing sections of the incredible UK AIDS Quilt.
We want to say a massive thank you to the team at Charleston Trust in Lewes who gave Allsorts staff a private tour of the house and gardens, as well as seeing sections of the incredible UK AIDS Quilt.
Every inch of the house is covered in paintings and creativity from the Bloomsbury Group, who inhabited the house around World War Two, and in more recent years the Charleston Trust have expanded into an exhibition and events space which regularly hosts incredible, often queer talent from Sussex and beyond.
While we visited, we were lucky enough to see parts of the UK AIDS Quilt, which was on display at Charleston at the time.
LGBT+ Trainer and Comms Worker, Colin said “It was such a treat to see the house and learn all about the rather queer happenings that went on there. Charleston is such an underrated gem in the East Sussex countryside, and it was such a treat to be able to come together as a team to spend some time here.”
