One of the things that connects me to my family is food. One of our rituals is to make pancakes for breakfast to celebrate our birthdays. We have a special family recipe which we all consider to be just as precious and secret as Coke's infamously secret recipe. We all take the passing-down of the family recipe very seriously, and the correct way to cook the pancakes is even more serious. The pancake recipe has grown with us and evolved over time to include our changes (veganism), and our expanding table (double quantities), but however much it changes it connects us all straight back to family in Ireland. We aren't religious, but if we were, our religion might be pancakes. 'Family' means all those dear to us and welcome in our home. It means we love you enough to pancake you on your birthday.
Successfully making 'sushi sandwiches' for the first time with my kids
Here's a drawing of my favourite photo of my family; that's me on my mum's shoulders alongside my cousin and my uncle. I think it sums up my family well because the photo was taken when we were at a protest
My mom is very beautiful
They are there when you need a hug, make you feel guilt when you don’t give them the time they want with you. They tell you when you need a rest from work and its time to have some fun and take them for a walk. They are always around when they know you are in pain, need support or just don’t want to be alone. This is my family guilt trippers, Cookie and Crumble my family.

I love sport in all its forms, celebrating Pride and Rainbow laces with the football community over the last 10 years has been a challenge at times, but more often than not a surprise around the commitment to social justice and fairness exhibited by players at all levels within the professional game. I look forward annually to the rainbow events as this raises the profile of LGBT+ supporters, players and parents who love sport and the impact on the community it can have to positively change lives.
A drawing of my friend Joe who in turn was drawing me. I wasn't allowed to look at my drawing or take my pen off the page. I love drawing with my friends!
For Pen Pride, connection to our community, one of our young people has put together a playlist of songs, celebrating trans feminine icons such as SOPHIE, Ethel Cain, Shea Diamond and more
Music brings people together, here are some drawings from a listening party I went to recently, I liked the idea of people all around the world also going to listening parties for Sparks' new album!
