Schools Contracts

Aims of the Allsorts Schools Contracts

  • To provide a range of support to students who are LGBT+, or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Especially to those who are experiencing challenges and difficulties at school or at home as a result of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

  • To increase LGBT+ awareness, inclusion and safety throughout the whole school community through educational workshops, assemblies, staff training and LGBT+ Inclusion Awards; with a particular emphasis on recognising, challenging and reporting all LGBT+phobic incidents and bullying with the aim of reducing and eventually eradicating such incidents from schools.

  • To increase the visibility and inclusion of LGBT+ identities and the LGBT+ community throughout the school and the wider community, and across the teaching curriculum.

One to one support for students

Our tailored one-to-one support provides a non-judgemental and safe space for children and young people to talk through any issues and feel heard while exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. We offer practical support and guidance depending on the young person’s needs and goals.

The hours can be used for multiple students and usually involve a 45-minute induction and around three 30 minute one-to-one sessions per student.

One-to-one support for students is available as part of our Pay As You Go scheme, at £450 for six hours*, but it may be more cost effective for your school to buy our Annual Contract.

*This is based on an online delivery model. Should the young person require one-to-one support in person, we might need to adapt the number of sessions delivered.

Rainbow Flag Award

We proudly support the delivery of the Rainbow Flag Award locally.

The Rainbow Flag Award is a national quality assurance framework that has a focus on positive LGBT+ inclusion and visibility, for settings where young people exist. This includes:

  • primary schools

  • secondary schools

  • SEND schools

  • alternative provisions

  • FE colleges

The Rainbow Flag Award encourages a whole organisation approach to LGBT+ inclusion, as well as developing strategies to effectively challenge and combat LGBTphobic bullying.

Supporting Local

The Rainbow Flag Award is centrally managed by The Proud Trust, with many elements having devolved local delivery. This means that any monies generated from this scheme will help fund our vital work with LGBT+ young people.
